Four Companies Unite for Landmark Onshore Hydrocarbon Exploration in Myanmar

Yangon, January 30, 2026 — A historic moment unfolded at the Parkroyal Hotel, Yangon, as four companies — Xian Market New Materials Technology Company Limited, Oil Nation E&P Myanmar, HNA Myanmar Oil and Gas Limited, and Three Friday Company Limited — officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on onshore hydrocarbon exploration and production in Myanmar.

The ceremony brought together a distinguished audience of industry leaders, academics, and future professionals. Among the honored attendees were retired rectors from Technological University and Yangon University Geology, a retired Deputy Minister of Energy, Chief Geologists from Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise, country managers of upstream companies, the Yunnan Economic Representative for Myanmar, executives from leading banks, rectors from Thanlyin Technological University and Yangon Technological University, alongside students, company executives, and invited guests.

The event was enriched by knowledge-sharing sessions. Two senior experts from the oil and gas industry delivered insightful presentations on oil and gas economics and managed pressure drilling, while two student presenters showcased innovative approaches to sand control techniques and hydraulic fracturing. This blend of seasoned expertise and youthful innovation highlighted the collaborative spirit driving Myanmar's energy future.

Following the signing, guests enjoyed a luncheon and received memorable gifts, symbolizing goodwill and the strengthening of partnerships.
